Silverstone, 1992. With Mansell-mania at its height, the British Grand Prix was overrun with fans keen on seeing 'Red 5' take victory in his home race. Mansell, in his all dominant FW14b, qualified on pole a full 1.9secs ahead of his teammate Patrese.
In the race, Patrese would lead into turn 1 but Mansell soon repassed the Italian and went on to pull a gap of some 39secs on field by the end of the race. It was an emphatic victory which was met with the now famous scenes of fans invading the track as the cars still circulated.
